The word breaktime, and libraries
Tuesday, July 11, 2006I like the work "breaktime" — and Micah knows this full well, since we have attempted to study together in the library. "Study together" — that was a laughtrip!
For those of you who know Micah and me, you know that "different study habits" is the mildest description of what we are inflicted with when it comes to our academics. We tried studying at a coffee shop, in the dining room, in a library… to no avail. I was too much like a tornado, and he a quiet, genteel farm land (with a matching barn and black-and-white cow) that was all too easy to be twisterized.
Speaking of libraries, I'm not very comfortable in those, either. I can very easily find a gazillion other things to do as a preliminary activity prior to the actual studying, sitting there on the desk with all my books and notes propped open in front of me. By the time I've settle down to read what I have to read, ding ding ding!, it's time for me to go. Once, I
slept a bit too long and too soundly that drool started to drip onto the desk.
Those were the days
